Sainsburys accepting Tesco Clubcard vouchers??
Discussion
I've just posted on another forums "what ya doing?" thread that i've ordered mega bucks with of xmas crap from Tesco Clubcard Deals, but someone posted this:
Not that I condone such practices but.......
Sainsburys take Tesco vouchers at face value.
If you get an internet deal with Tescos the token is cancelled on line.
I have heard that Sainsburys won't be aware that it has already been spent so still give face value.
Obviouslly I have never tried this.
I wonder if that is the case? I've crossed through each of the vouchers i've used, so cant go along and try it for a tenner, but if it is correct then thats massively open to fraud I would've thought.

It's an industry wide thing and they don't care - they don't classify it as fraud although the ISP (Institute of Sales Promotion) have been campaigning against this and other coupon misuse for years.
Tesco stated in a press release on 3rd October that they would no longer accept coupons against products that hadn't been purchased which was their major thing. Funnily enough they haven't pulled out of accepting each others vouchers to poach customers and this is one of the loopholes that exists because of it.
They can't cross reference the others vouchers as they don't share the same EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) systems. In short go for it - it ain't fraud and there's no chance of getting done - they're trying to shaft each other - this is a consumer benefit of the games they play against their competitors.

Funnily enough today another batch of vouchers arrived from Tesco (yes, they do get too much of my money) so I have the opportunity to try this out now. I guess if i'd gone to Sainsburys with my nigh on £300 of vouchers i've amassed in the last year or so they might have had a moan, but £10 or £20 I doubt they'll bat an eyelid.

Did you try this out in the end? Any feedback?
