Best PC Car Game?

Apologies but the search function isn't up to it.

Is rfactor the best we have for PC? Looking for a good online multiplayer, realism, mods (want an E38 BMW if possible), generally the moon on a stick.

Is rfactor the one?

I think rFactor is the best.
The quality of some of the mods varies as all the cars and tracks are user generated, but there is enough high quality stuff out there to keep you ammused for a long time.
The AI is pretty crap, so its only good for online racing (check out the PH rfactor league)

iracing is the other simulator choice.
Its subscription and pretty expensive.
Personally I didnt get on with it, but its worth looking at. I

There are other (non sim) games but I dont know much about those

just had an email regarding iracing subscription, been wanting to try it myself so emailed them, current offer is 1 month for $5.00 (dollars) so about 3quid.

Its a Radical SR8 promo offer so you get that car and a few others and about 5 or 6 tracks. All the other cars/tracks are pay for upgrades, not sure of cost but might end up being expensive. You can cancel the subscription within the first month so it doesn't auto renew at $14.00 a month.

As for gameplay, not my sort of game, it's "activated" through a website so you have to launch each track/car combo after leaving the game. It's the strangest layout for a game i've seen. i've only played it for a hour or so but tracks and cars seem pretty good from a physics/handling view graphics are ok.. I'll have a longer play and do some online races and if anyones interested i'll post what i think after.. anyways enough jibberish the code i recieved is PR-RADICAL-5 and you need to go to http://www.iracing.com/membership/. hope this is some help

I like rFactor and GTR2 (which is more polished and has better force feedback IMO, but suffers for a lack of cars compared to rFactor).

Haven't played Live for Speed or iRacing though. Are these good?

RFactor is excellent, you should also have a look at GTR Evo, you can get it from Steam.

The makers of GTR Evo also created GTL and GTR2, the former is a classic TC/GT car sim and the latter is a modern GT sim.

Some people still rate GPL as the best PC sim, with some of the available mods it is still very impressive.
