Anyone else have this problem

I boot up the Xbox MW2 is already in although all it says is play game on my Xbox press A the screen goes blank then a message appears "disc is unreadable" so take it out wipe it it then works i have to do this everytime it then boots up and i play as normal.

From my experience this happens for a while before the RROD happens. I've had RROD 4 times now and each time the Disc issue happened for a while first, so believe the two to be linked.
Might just be coincidence though.

Is it a modded xbox?

I had it, sent the console for repair. It happens more on films. Put a dvd in, if you cant make it to the menu without getting X UNABLE TO READ MEDIA then your console is fked and its time to put in a repair request.

Might not be a prologue to RROD, my last one did this until it wouldn't read discs at all any more, didn't RROD at all. Which was particularly irritating as it was out of the 1 year warranty so it wasn't covered for repair (unlike RROD which is now covered for 3 years)

its not a modded box its another replacement box from microsoft after the third rrod struck about 3 months ago its so bloody annoying i never remeber having any trouble with any of my other consoles in them days i uased to play a lot more!!
