Can anyone recommend things to do for a day in or around Orlando?

Not really tempted by the usual theme parks, so perhaps something slightly different.

Not a trip to Daytona, I've already got that organised for the following day.

Depends really, if you fancy visiting a nice park then i would recommend Harry P Leu gardens or if you want something a bit different to the normal theme parks Gatorland is quite good fun.

Or there is an indoor skydiving place near wet and wild, plus things like pirates cove crazy golf which is a laugh.

Not sure if planes are you're thing (if not why not..;)) but I would highly recommend this place. Its in Kissimmee not far from Old Town on North Hoagland Blvd.....

You dont get to just look around you can actually get up in them too. Only pick the aerobatic option if you have a strong stomach though....

assume you have already looked a spending half a day at NASA, if not well worth it, might be interesting to have a look at the flight schedule to see if anything is due to launch while you are out there
