Wii questions

My daughter is getting a Wii for christmas form her grandparents. Others will be getting a 2nd controller, Wii Fit+, another Wii Motion+ and a few games. Will we also ned to get rechargalbe battery packs for the controllers and Wii Fit board?
As far a games go the unit comes with Wii Sports, Sports Resort, the 2nd contoller comes with Wii Play, she also wants Mario+Sonic Winter Olyimpics. I am also thinking of getting the ShaunWhite snow board game. Will this lot keep her and us busy for a while? And any other suggestions for games or accessories would be welcome before i go and waste a shed load of money on something useless.

My kids love Mario Karts. Can play it with a standard controller or get a wheel which takes the controller for under a tenner. Think a twin battery unit + charger was also about a tenner from ToysrUs. Well worth it, just put the controllers in it without the need to mess about with batteries

I bought a rechargeable battery pack for the Board from eBay but it needed recharging after 20 minutes use! I sent it back for a refund.
I might have been unlucky but 4.8V is never going to be a proper replacement for 6.0V.

Try www.gamespot.com and look up the top 10 games. My kid loves Mario Karts with her friends and the Wii sports games are enough to keep them happy for hours. The problem making sure they don't play too long!

big thumbs up for Mario kart (and up to a 4 player simultaneously too).

As for recharging kits - depends how heavily you'll be playing but I've not found the batteries run out that quickly at all.

EA Playground is fun, suitable for kids of all ages (including 28 yr olds when not on Forza or MW2 )

Supermario Galaxy is another one that they'd enjoy

I'd also back up what others have said about MarioKart

Batteries, we have a charger but find they run out too quickly compared to normal batteries, but could just be our one...

Thanks for the advise peeps.Went out shopping for some of it, if anyones looking at buying the WiiFit Plus then get down to ToysRus as there £68.99, everywhere else was 85-90, from there I went to game and got haunWhite for £20 so having saved £40 off I trot to Tescos and get Mario Cart with a wheel and another wheel for £35, result got more than i planeed for less!!
