Autosport Awards Dinner

Has anyone ever been to the Dinner & know the general format? I am going, but currently have no idea of what to expect!

Not been myself but friend goes most years.

Black tie, i am sure you know, and hell of a piss up after the main event. Think she got in at 7 am last year

A little tip, if you want to find out before others who has won, is to go upstairs and seek out the main spot-light operators. They'll have somewhere, an order of what tables to shine the light on for when they win.

Dinner and awards ceremony can be quite entertaining

Usually has a fantastic video summary of the season - way better than the broadcast stuff

Should be good this year simply because there's plenty of UK success to celebrate

And yes it can get lairy post dinner

Oh hang on. I've just realised I'm not going to the Autosport awards, but the "Motorsport Industry Association awards held during the Autosport show at the NEC..."

I have been to six or seven over the last decade or so. It begins with the usual drinks, there are usually a number of 'race' cars dotted around to look at F1, WRC, WTCC, Le Mans etc along with trophies.

Then you go downstairs for dinner and the awards kick off a little later. It is actually a fun 'black tie' night out, no promo girls though but take along your camera as most of the drivers are relaxed and happy to chat.
