PS3 DNS error driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys,

I keep on getting a DNS error when I try to play online. The last time it happened was when another wireless device in the house (for tv) was changed to a diferent frequency. The psp connection instantly dropped, and even reverting to the old frequency on the tv remote jobo didn't get in back online

I tried the fixes found on YOUTUBE but nothing seems to work. I've tried various dns router codes and IP addresses, turned the server on off etc.

What can I do?

Mine wouldnt sign me into PSN earlier for about an hour. Try going to network settings on the playstation and turning off media sharing. Alot of people say it works.

What is the dns set to? Mine is set to look at the router for dns.

Sounds more like a problem with your wireless network rather than a DNS error. Can you hardwire your PS3 to your router? Even if it's just to test it for a while?

Try Netplugs. They're quite pricey, but I haven't had any connection problems since using them.

My lad had a similar problem with his PS3. We now have hard wired it in to a Netgear switch in his room which also has a wireless bridge attached, all plugged in to one half of these:

I know they are cheap, but I was recommended them and they are simply superb. I get well over 70MB/s between his room upstairs and the router in the study, so no more dodgy wireless signal!

Highly recommended. I'm going to get another one soon to connect the TV up as well.
