Not a biker mayself, but that's complete madness.

What are they using as a definition of a group of riders. If the guy at the front is doing 85mph and the guy behind 103 there must have been a fair gap between them or the back guy very quickly becomes the front guy.

This is great news! If I don't like someone I can follow them at a distance and then when I see a copper, speed the f**k up!

This story has been done to death on here already, the fact the other riders admitted they were speeding, there was video evidence and the unmarked bike followed them for more than a few miles would say to me the story has been inflated for a responce. Theres much more to it than just nicking someone for riding in a group. Sure they didnt get video of him but its not rocket science to figure out if he's leaving you at 80, hes going faster than you.......

Complete Lunacy...How the hell can anyone, in or on one vehicle,
be responsible for the actions of a driver in or on another ?

And does this apply to cars? Vans? Lorries? Surely it's a 'motoring' offence speeding, not just limited to bikers... must be worth a challenge under Euro law or good old human rights!!

Well, he's not alone in his perception, though it might have been put more rationally. Most bikers I see are death or glory madmen out risking their own lives and those of others by treating public roads as racetracks. Some of the results are sad but inevitable. I've seen too much of it.

I agree, most bikers do get all they deserve, which is far more than a joyless moron like you has to enjoy in their life it would seem smile

Try being a little less obvious in your trolling.

So, if your motoring down the outside lane in your car keeping up with the flow of moving traffic (all going 80-85mph) does that mean the police can prosecute the lead vehicle here too....

Utter nonsense and think they should spend more time and money on more useful non motoring convictions.

Do a search for the original thread a few weeks ago. There is a paste from MCN where one of the others in the party admitted to speeding and took the points and fine. The lead rider got stung because he decided to go to court. Sure they didnt know where the 85mph prosceution speed came from, but they admitted to the offences.

Just because youre in a group doesnt mean youre covered - ie leader and rear rider are the ones most likely to be nicked. Obviously the lead rider was disapearing into the distance and the police video showed a certain speed of which he exceeded.
If you honestly want to moan about being caught "red handed" speeding then either get a slower bike or take it on the track.
