Very regular visits early could be to do with the fact it would still have been under its original warranty and was therefore thrown at the dealer for every little thing.
You need to check what the visits were for, they could have been minor things.

What is important is to ensure the actual Oil, Insp1, Insp2, Brake Fluid and Coolant services have been carried out and that there are invoices to back up the stamps.

The £1/min BMW line (number on the website) will tell you dates of dealer visits, I think you have to call the dealer themselves to check what was done.

Have you actually seen the service history you mention in the first post or has it been given to you verbally ?
How many miles has the car done between Feb08 and Oct09 ? That will determine if it should have been serviced.

just to clarify - my son is looking at this car, a colleague of my husband has givin us a list if dates of visits to the garage -where from i dont know
the worrying thing is mileage feb08 30141 then oct09 26942!
mileage now 43000!
when my son took this up with vendor he said it was a typo and would get it amended - i am inclined to believe it is the only possible explanation but its good to be careful
just confused and he doesnt want to buy a dog

Now it makes sense.
Yes, check it very carefully.
The BMW line will tell you the dates of its dealer visits. You could then contact each dealer to see what the mileage was when they saw it.
It could be typo, an instrument cluster change (which the dealer should know about) or clocking.
The car should also have an MOT for each of these years. First place to check would what these read, particularly 2007 and 2008.
Then sense check these agains the supposed service history it has.
