In car Camcorders for Trackdays???

Being hassled to come up with a dear santa list that doesn't directly involve car parts

So with me putting in a role cage this winter I was thinking of a camcorder which I could mount.

I have NO idea on these things, what's best for picking up both sound and picture without auto focussing on the dash like I've seen so many. Would also need so sort of mounting device.

Don't want to spend massive money, maybe £250-£300, is that reasonable?
