cooper s r53 acceleration hestitation ?
Discussion
hi i have had the cooper s for a few weeks now and feel that its not accelerating smoothly. if i floor it it starts accelerating nicely then around 3k rpm it seems to strugle if i keep it floored it gets to 4k rpm and then seems ok.
it seems like there is a running problem around the mid range, has anyone else had this or know what it could be?

Yeah, sounds like traction control. The supercharger really comes on song from 3k, so that's where it'll overcome grip, causing the traction control to cut power. This will be accompanied by a flashing light on the rev-counter.
If you floor it, the car leans back reducing grip at the front wheels. From low-speeds, try rolling in the power, rather than stomping on it.

there is an actuator valve located just under the right hand side of the supercharger intercooler which connects into the intake manifold which can stick and on occations i have had it cause a hesitation/flat spot on hard acceleration not saying this is the fault on your car but its something to keep in mind
