Ebay one the correct car. Thanks. A bit more than I wanted to spend though.

Thanks Crosle. I'll follow that up.

Looks like the right one crossle, hell of a price though - quality is on a par with Vanguards at about a tenner but for some reason these cost 5 times as much.

Mikansue used to do a white metal kit in the 70's; I built one for my Mum's hairdresser! He actually owned a full-size one but had never built the kit; strangely enough he used to restore real cars but never built models. He probably paid less than a fiver for the kit when it was new and I only charged him £20 for building it (those were the days!).

My first ever commission in fact. One day I'm going to borrow it back so that I can photograph it, and also put a number plate on it for him.

That also reminds me of my childhood but in the 1970's, as my uncle owned a black Roadster then that looked exactly like that.

It was manufactured in 1949 and had the original Phillips radio which took an age to heat up.
This model was the last British car to have 'dickie' (rear-facing) seats in the boot. The car I refer to was the sister car to the burgundy one loaned to the BBC for the Bergerac series. My uncle sourced and bought it from the Channel Islands but it had spent most of its life in Glasgow. Originally owned by a Mr. Griffin, it had his family motif of a splayed eagle on each door.
