It's MoT time again for my S3, and a combination of lack of time and my previous tech falling out of favour I'm after somewhere to sort my car out at a sensible price and with the minimum of hassle.]

Somewhere around work (Hatfield) would be handy.

Not too fussed if they have a well known name or not, as long as they can do a reliable job - we are after all taking about a car with 143k on the clock.

I need (based on feedback from recent service, and corroborated by my own inspection):

- MoT
- 2x tyres (not MoT failures just yet, but soon will be)
- Tracking (NSF inside tyre wear + steering wheel off centre)
- Rear ARB bushes (assuming they don't pass the MoT)
- Rear shocks (ditto)

A quick Google throws up Follett Motors. Anyone any experience of them? Any other recommendations?

Mark Tempest Autocentre in Welwyn Garden City have a good name for themselves and are friendly to the wallet. They're a VW/Audi specialist so they'd be perfect for your car.

I know everyone will be up in arms about me saying this but....

I work at Kwik Fit in potters bar, you can book the MOT online for £35, our MOT tester worked at main dealer garages before joining us, and any mechanic work after would be carried out by our service technician who has been a mechanic for around 30 years. All parts are guaranteed for 12 months or 12000 miles and the wheel alignment is guaranteed for 1 calendar month.

As for the tyres, book them online or get a written quote from a local garage and we can match it (book online is preferable because it eliminates any problems with tread patterns and different brands etc).

We regularly do tyres on all sorts of top end motors and would like to think we are a very reputable garage tarred by the kwik fit brush.
