Morning all,
My travelcard is up for renewal in a month or so and I've decided that I'd rather bike into work than sit around on trains going nowhere.
So can anyone recommend a good bike school in SW London, Surrey area. I'm going to go for direct access, not too bothered about an intensive course though.
Also looking for bike recommendations but plenty of other threads for that.
Cheers,
Keith

With regards to Direct Access, what would a car driver have to do to get on a decent sized bike? Would i have to take a CBT and then a Direct Access, or just the DA? Does that include a Theory test, or do i have to do one of them too? Anything else to consider?
Im over 21 and have held my car license for just over 4 years, if that matters.

I reckon so! Been keen to buy a bike for years, communted into London for 2 years on my mountain bike but now am too far away to do that so I reckon adding an engine is the best bet.
Plan to do direct access over the next couple of months and buy a bike in April.
Went into Fowlers in Bristol today (was there for a meeting) to browse. Really like the look of the Honda CBR600RR, but a bit too harsh and fast for me. Thinking maybe a Triumph Sprint ST, Suzuki GSXR600 or SV650S at the moment, but 2 months left to decide.
Mad Dave - I think you need to do CBT, Theory and full test (direct access) in that order, if the bike is over 33bhp. Seems that engine size doesn't mnatter, just bhp.

mad Dave.
I had my driving licence for over 10 years I had to do the theorie test and the CBT. I then had 4, 4 hour lessons and passed first time.
I did the lessons on a 500cc bike which meant I could go out and buy any bike I wanted
I think thats what the DAS means you go streight to any bike instead of being limited but I could be wrong.
To be honest I didnt pay too much attention jst wanted my licence
