Is it "nooby" to camp? 
I don't really camp myself, I'm 1st prestige rank 55.
If the team I'm in is getting heavily beat I sometimes revert to camping to prevent getting a large amount of deaths or if there's an enemy AC130 or chopper gunner, for obvious reasons.
Getting killed by someone camping really gets on my nerves, but is it kind of nooby?

Seriously I dont think the Allied forces screamed "feckin campers" at the Germans sitting in the bunkers during D-day.
You just learn where the likley spots are. On CS I tend to go around expecting people to be in camping spots so end up shooting at the location as I go around the corner. Most of the time its empty but once or twice you get a kill (and then accused of using wall hacks).
What gets my goat is people who scream "camper" at guys on Day of Defeat using bolt action rifles. What else are you supose to do with them they are not exactly assault weapons lol.

Yeah but it's not D-Day is it. It's a game that's meant to be fun. I've found that most campers on COD4 camp in exactly the same place once they respawn after you've killed them, every time for the whole map. So as i'm going on my rampage with auto shotty 9/10 they'll be in the same place, just send them a lead present as you go round the corner and be on your merry way.

I had this on MW2 yesterday. There was one guy with a tactical insertion camping in a small room. About 4 times I killed him after stamping on his tactical insertion, the 1st few times I stabbed him but he kept on going back to the same place. This isn't camping, it's stupidity.IMO and it has been mentioned above is that camping is not sniping as such but it is sitting in a hard to get part of a room behind a crate waiting for people to walk past. It annoys me but it shows the complete lack of talent they have to have to resort to this to get a positive kd ratio.
Sniping is a skill and you have to get a couple of kills and move on as there is always a couple of routes to get to each decent sniping spot. Most snipers consistantly look down the scope so you can sneak up on them quite easily.
Yep, campers get on my nerves. But then at times I wonder if I seem like a camper - to paint a picture, I am wombling towards a doorway when my heartbeat sensor shows someone coming, so I stop, step to the side, and when they come through the door I give them the bad news with my 1887s... Then I continue. Now on their killcam I must look like a camper...
But the people who sit in dark corners or hide in bushes for half the game really get on my nerves, BUT as said, you can lob a nice semtex grenade their way..

How is that camping? I'm with you, heartbeat sensor pics up 3 or 4 heading my way, so I nip behind a bush, as they go past I stand up, 1 kill.....2 kills.....3 kills.....4.......nope don't get the 4th cause the 5th guy had cold blood/ninja etc and when he sees his mates drop he pops around the corner and drops me.But the people who sit in dark corners or hide in bushes for half the game really get on my nerves, BUT as said, you can lob a nice semtex grenade their way..

Not a camper but a noob! Why does using a heartbeat sensor make you a noob? It's just like any perk/attachment has some advantages, has some disadvantages, anyone who relies solely on a heartbeat sensor is in for a shock when against a team full of people with cold blooded and ninja etc. But there are still many that don't creep around in stealth mode and thats when the heartbeat comes into its own, I always have one gun in my private classes that will have it fitted.

Its all fair game as far as i am concerned. If thats how they wish to play then thats their own choice. You just need to be more cautious when running into rooms and areas where there are hiding spots. A frag or flash in advance of entering a room isn't such a big deal. If you get caught more than once by the camper in the same spot then you aren't adapting to the situation in the game. Its a good opportunity to home in on them and give them a blade in the back if they are stupid enough to sit still after a kill!

Agreed. i dont generally camp, the only time i do is when im on a kill streak. say im on 9 kills and i need 11 then ill camp... as i dont wnt to run around like a loon i want some safe kills. i'll also camp if my team is getting hammered, but im not sure if its actually camping because while i may cover one spot for a length of time, after every kill ill move to a different position!So i'll be sculking in the dark corners or behind boxes or roof tops waiting for you he he
