Door won't shut

hi all, please can somebody help? My passenger door won't stay shut, when I slam the door it just bounces back open. I have checked the striker is hitting in the right place which it is. I have checked the latch but it doesn't seem to stay closed. If i try and get the latch to click into place it just springs back open. Does this mean the latch is knackered or is there something i am missing?


Also, if the latch is knackered where can i get a new one?

check the emergency release cable pull has been pushed back in.

I had the same thing in september, got the existing door latch glued up just as a temp measure, then got a 2nd hand one from Austec. I wouldn't recomend driving with the door latch not working as I did, as the door swung open a couple of times on my drive to my local workshop!

Do this first, and if it doesn't work, check the catch itself. You'll have to remove the trim in the rear, pull off the rubber door seal, and pull the trim panel so you can peer in and check the rear of the catch mechanism. A Collection of levers and thingys with cables attached to them. Check they are all tight and spray some WD40 on the catch. It's a pretty basic mechanical contraption and I'd be surprised if it has failed.
