My 2007 RR 4.2l S/C has done 20,000 miles and the tyres are still legal but are now not so good off road. Any recommendations for a set of tyres that are a reasonable compromise between on- and off-road. I don't do much off road - more muddy fields and rutted tracks when out shooting.

I guess that I have a preference for making sure the road performance is decent.

Guess you are on 20" ?

Take a look at the Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme, lots of happy customers.

Andy.

I saw a S/C at my local dealer with AT's on a set of 19".
Looked great, a very large selection of cartridges in the boot.

I had a set of these fitted just before I headed up to Val D'Isere earlier in the year, and they've been on ever since. Very happy so far.

Another vote for those here - I have them on 19s on my 4.4 Vogue. Amazing in snow/mud and the wet, have done some reasonably serious mud-plugging in them with no probs. Also seem most capable in hot dry summer. Will be running them all year and replacing with same in October - reckon I will get 15-20k miles out of them the way they are going.
