Help identifying this Mazda 323 please!!

Hi, we believe my mum has an ultra rare 323 Sportif GLX special edition, it seems to be the only one in the UK and the details she knows about it are very sketchy. Basically it looks like no other 323 Sportif GLX of the same age. She bought it direct from a Mazda dealer new and they said it was from Japan (possibly an import) and they used it as a demo car for a while. It has every possible optional extra going, came with Yokohama semi-slick tyres, and was driven around for a while by no other than Athlete Sally Gunnell! It's a 1.5i DOHC automatic on a M-plate (1995).

Here are some images of the car and a pick of the plate in the door panel. We are struggling to find any information on the internet so if anyone has any pointers, or clues or can even identify how rare this car is in the UK, please get in touch.

You wouldn't know how many of these came over to UK as a special import?
It would be good to find out how rare it is in the UK. The car will soon be up for sale you see.

Sorry no idea. To me it looks like an official import rather than a JDM grey import. The VIN plate is in English and the rear number plate is long and narrow rather than square.

yes its a mazda 323 neo or a 323 p or c i cant quite remember. get yourself over to club323f as you will find out alot more info on these cars there. they are rare but there are wtil alot of these on the road. good luck with the sale also
