Seems like a decent price, any thoughts?

Looks very reasonable. Check all of the usual like suspension bushes and oil cooler and away you go! :-)

That's my old GTV!!

I sold it not that long ago for much nearer £6k !

It had the oil cooler and pipes changed , all the discs/pads, full AR cambelt kit, original Alfa clutch, brake lines, alloys in amazing condition. I would have bought it back for 3.2k!!

Cheap tax due to being originally registered in Germany smile

Hi,

You had a fair bit of work done to keep it in good shape. Did you sell it in the summer of 08?

I had the Clutch/Cambelt/Battery done (still not cheap though!), the rest was the previous owner. I remember seeing a bill of £2000 for the previous owner (pads/discs/oil cooler/braided pipes, service, new tyres e.t.c), and knew the money had been spent on it.

Summer of 08 rings a bell, actually almost definitely, as I picked up the Chimaera in October 08 as I still had a runabout.

I could see the market dropping and stepped out at just the right time I think. Absolutely stunning little car though. The leather really was as good as advertised.

Totally agree with you.

Just had it in at a specialist - Alfa Technico in North Nottingham, it was given a good checking over with a view to getting done whatever was needed, so it had an oil/filter change, new thermostat, spark plugs as it's only done 56k and cheking through the history they've not been changed and two front lower arms replaced. Everything else looks spot on, rear suspension still looks in good shape, the rad may need doing later next year and the rear section of the exhaust has seen better days (but will be changing this regardless.

Very happy at the moment as it makes a very nice runabout.

So your the new owner

I think it may of had 1 wishbone previously and I am sure I spotted a bill for sparkplugs (from AlfaAid...have you seen their pricing, eek!)

Did you really get her for just £3200 redface, totally incredible at that money.

I was seriously considering buying it back, but felt a little guilty about possibly paying half what I sold it for.

Just remembered I also had the alarm code antenna replaced, you should have a bill for that from AlfaNet as well smile

Hi, yes I bought it and for even less than £3.2k!! In between cars at the moment so wanted something with a bit of character instead of opting for a "safe bet" biggrin

Can't find any reference to plugs in the folder of invoices and judging by the one we removed to check them they were well worn. The other items you mentioned are in the paperwork.

The car runs very well indeed and has had a light detail so the bodywork is looking good too. Just need to give the interior a good clean (mainly the carpets) to get it to top standard, but like you've already mentioned the leather seats are in almost immaculate condition.

Less than £3200, you got a truely fantastic deal! (Wish I had made a cheeky offer when I first saw it pop back on now!)

Enjoy her biggrin

That's exactly what I did. The Guy selling the car was buying a Mito from a local Alfa Dealer and had been offered peanuts for the GTV, he needed to get the GTV sold so that he could fund the deposit on the Mito, he had a limted number of days otherwise he'd have lost out on the Mito deal. So I made a cheeky offer and got it!

Jules.
