Well

after a long week waiting I finally picked up the RS last Thursday and what a few days I have had. Even with the 2003 Impreza STI, 2005 BMW 535d and the 2006 RS4, I have to say that the RS is the most exciting car I have ever owned, and I think the one that gives me the biggest smile when I look at it. Not since the brother bought a 22b back in 1999 has a car made such an impact with looks, noise and power - the RS has made more of an impact.

Washed it 4 (yes, four) times Fri, twice Sat and Twice Sunday!

So, the noise, with a standard car, is class. From inside its addictive; from outside the first thing that comes into my head is, RS WRC, GB Rally, wet forest...

So, some advice from owners. Have been thinking out putting a stainless steel exhaust on her. Not really bothered about the CAT forward, so CAT back (does the CAT forward invalidate warranty?) Not alot of clips on You Tube, but there are some.

Has anyone any advice for me?

Cheers
Rónán

The warranty is entirely at the dealership's discretion, Ró. Some are sensible and dont' have an issue with a full system, others rule with an iron fist and would refuse to do warranty work on completely unrelated areas (like trim) just due to a catback (have heard of that before).

Milltek is definitely proving the most popular choice at the moment, but as I said in teh other thread, you're not exactly spoilt for choice yet anyway.

Check my website www.kalmar-union.com for the Swedish developed and made Ferrita exhausts for the Volvo designed and built RS engine, UK stock on its way.

I have been importing their stuff for Volvos for 12 years now, well made and cast iron lifetime warranty to the first owner, that is the warranty does not pass with the vehicle to subsequent owners.

Regards, Don.

I run a full 3" Mongoose system with a 100CPI sports CAT on my Focus ST2. The shear noise, pops and bangs are worth the money on there own, let alone the performance increase.

Do it matey, go buy one!

Hiya

Is this the system you fitted?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FOCUS-RS-MK2-2009-FULL-MONGO...

Do you need to remap the car with this set up and is it easy to fit?

Thanks

Aye that will be the one, plus a free K&N! Nice wee bargain smile

A couple of tips for you....
1) You will need to cut off the original exhaust as Ford fit the exhaust before rear sub frame is fitted.
2) The CAT replacent pipe does not come with any gaskets. Using the original gaskets will make restrictions as its 2.5" and the Mongoose is 3" I got past that by using good old exhaust sealent paste.

Here are my clips...

After that be ready for the popping, banging and spitting flames if hot enough wink

Man, that sounds the business. Love that. Seriously considering it now...

No ECU remaps required then???

You will get the MIL light on for a de-CAT, but a Superchips Bluefin will fix that.

Im going for intercooler and Bluefin next year smile

Dont worry, you will need to post your ECU anyway and then they will send you the handset and your modified ECU. Tuners have not broken down the Ford codes to have a plug-n-play handset ...... yet. But fingers crossed they might get there by next year.
