Although they have removed the word "gullible" because not enough people were looking it up and therefore it was deemed unnecessary.
(C) My school 1977Dictionary is definitely in the dictionary. I know for certain because my second year form teacher ordered me to copy the dictionary until I found the swear word he'd heard me use in the playground.
Me being a smartarse I only copied the definition of 'dictionary'. He didn't see the joke. They used the belt (tawse) on smartarses in those bygone days.

How is copying the definition of 'dictionary' a logical response to being told to 'copy the dictionary until you reach the swaer word'?
Doesnt make sense.

I began this thread following a drunken discussion with a friend. We were amused by the irony that you would have to look up the word 'dictionary' in a dictionary to find the definition, but how could you know to use a dictionary if you didn't know the definition?
