Most sensible thing to do is fit a half cage with a harness bar.
This is what myself and Scottster decided when thinking of how to fit harnesses to his 968CS.
Be careful re insurance tho', as some insurers pee their pantaloons when you mention a little extra safety equipment. Why they have a heart attack when you mention a half cage, but are happy for your car to have airbags, air curtains and door bars etc. is totally beyond me.

Had thought about a half cage – would provide additional safety as well, especially whilst I get to know the car and learn its limits (somewhat quicker than my previous V6 406 coupe!). Incidentally, I have hit a hard thing at speed in a car and wish I had a cage then (I wasn’t driving). Nevertheless, a lot of people would argue that a cage is OTT for a weekend car that will be tracked 4 or 5 times a year? But what cost do you put on safety.
I have seen about 3 rolled cars this year on trackdays. I've only attended about 8 of them as well... not strictly necessary, but every bit of safety equipment helps and at a couple of hundred quid for a cage it is fairly cheap as a mod.
