Are these nice?

I've always been told their nice, but never had one.

Can we have recommendations into favorites?

I like one now and again, they keep forever in the cupboard, and are a cheap meal.

Filth. It cannot be high quality meat at those prices!

But, they won't kill you, and sometimes they are exactly what you want. Not that I can remember when I last had one.

So would I, but for a quid, when you want something tasty and filling, don't knock it.

I could have chateaubriand any time I wanted it, however culinary filth has its place too.

I keep one in the back of the cupboard 'just incase'. Sure they are not half as good as a fresh butchers pie, but at month end when you haven't had chance to shop and are hungry it fills the hole.

I love em in the same way I love a big greasy doner to round of a night of drunken debauchery. Everyday fare? jesus.

Setting aside the meat (alleged) content they cannot be considered a pie because they have puff pastry. The topping when cooked consists of a few layers of burnt crisp, a few layers of something that might be cooked properly, and a great wedge of uncooked sludgy slime, before you get to the filling.

However they do appear to be consumed by the lower orders.

imho rank.

Shortcrust, and all enveloping shortcrust pastry to boot, none of this pansy pastry lid should be required by law. In fact when I am elected to No 10 it will be a law I shall pass while in office.

On a more general note: there is a school of thought in the pie world that pies with puff pastry are for homosexuals, hence the use of the term puff, and rough puff.
