Paint code FER 190 for red 1983 Tasmin Coupe
Discussion
Help! I have tried the Paint code lists on "General TVR Stuff & Gossip" but have failed to find paint Code FER 190. Even tried it in Google and FER appears to be a prefix for ferrari colours but no FER190. Any ideas what the code stands for and where I can get hold of some? The car is basically a cherry red with gold bumbers.

Pah! Don't talk to me about paint codes!!
Me and GSX600 tried getting a match for our wedges, using the P422-.... ICI paint code,on the build plate, and failed dismally! it seems some paint codes are useful & some aren't.
I spoke to one of the sprayers at TVR (who started work when the wedges were in production)a few years ago, and he advised me that TVR would regularly modify th standard colours to suit.(i.e adding more silver to the mix for my Azure blue),so don't take them as gospel!
I supppose you may stand more of a chance with a flat colour like yours. May well be
quicker to take the fuel cap off and get a paint supplier to match it..

Sorry I don’t know the answer but if you find out please post it as that's the colour my car is.
I did a quick Google and this came up on a Ferrari site:
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_codes_...
FERRARI ROSSO CHIARO 190/20--R-190 1980 1983 SOLID
Correct year and it's red....? Maybe.

Job Done! I was repairing a front spoiler off a race car, so it does not merit paint at £100 plus per litre. I took the spoiler to Halfords and matched it up in the shop. The colour I used was "Ford Venetian Red" and it is a very good match. I have taken a couple of photo's but dont know how to load them. Thanks for the help every one.
Nice photo of your car Roy, I now know what ours should look like!. I think we will use it for track days and the odd sprint. My days of racing cars have long since gone, but maybe Jim might fancy a run out in "class C" of the Tuscan Challenge, as he is still young and virile (allegedly!)
