XJS seats

Sorry for a novice question but I've looked for an answer in the search facility but no such luck.

I've just bought some XJS sports seats like the ones you have all mentioned.I offered them up for fitment and they seem very tight ie they dont fit! The drivers seat needs a quick repair at the trimmers, so before I send it off I need to know if I've bought the correct seats.

Is it just a matter of removing the seat belt anchor and the chrome backrest adjuster and if you remove the latter is it then impossible to adjust the sitting angle?

I take it you have the manual seats. I got a pr of fully electric ones and they just fit with about 1" from the hood mounting bolts.

Neil, as per my email they are certainly tight but do just fit.
