Not nearly as good a rant as BSR. Go back to his thread and learn how to really have a moan about how people should or shouldn't post.

You're right Graham. I didn't and I wouldn't.

But there has been a spate of this lately and I do not understand where it has come from and why it is so popular.

It is a not-so-new form of proper yankised spastico. It boils my blood, like people saying 'hey' not 'hi' because they watched too much Friends and think it makes them seem cool and NYCish.

I started a similar topic to this about 18 months ago but have given up the fight.

That was a flippant way of saying that I hadn't noticed - going back 5 pages, I can only see 2 as you describe.

I've noticed more than 2.

Possibly around 6 or 7... certainly enough for me to notice, but you are correct to pick me up on what is quite clearly a gross exaggeration on my part.

Anyway. It sounds dumb. I just wanted to make that point.

Thank you. This new practice irritates me intensely as well. It's all over a yank-dominated guitar forum I frequent as well, but it's terribly vexing to see it used here as well.

@OP: surely that should read: "so why is everyone starting a thread with 'so' at the moment?" shouldn't it?

The big tragedy is the lack of punctuation when used.

It should either be a comma or an ellipse. Something like that.

I've noticed this. Couldn't be bothered enough to start a thread, but definitely bothered enough to reply to one. biggrin

Two kinds of threads:

1) People post about real world events that may be of interest
2) Misserable losers post about things that people post about because they have no lives and can't come up with original content

3) Fat people
4) Spelling mistakes and general tardy grammar
5) Failure of a relationship, suicidal thoughts, generally being a retarded loser
