Chimaera With Tuscan Lights

Hi,

I have seen a few Chimaera which have had their head lights replaced to look like Tuscan lights. Anyone know who sells these?

Looks rubbish doesn't it. I think you don't buy light fittings but cut off loads of bodywork and mould in new stuff. I saw one of (if not the first) chimp to undergo such work. It looked terrible and all out of sorts. All IMHO.

There will always be those who want to keep the original look but I'm not one of them. I have always felt the headlights were the only weakness in the design. I think that really improves the front end well.

That's not too bad but prefer original. The car I was thinking of had a Tuscan nose.

I don't think any TVRs need a design change in my opinion. Maybe the Lupo headlights make it look newer but the speed 6 lights on a Chimaera? Not for me thanks.

Maybe you'd change your mind after tring to drive a stock one quick on the roads round here after dark...

Most probs with orignal lights can be sorted by either cleanng or replacing the reflector behind lens, cleaning lens, and/or better bulbs or lupo lens or xenon bulbs.

Most of the major TVR garages either do the service or have the contacts

I once did a test for the TVRCC on different bulb types, direct replacements. First was one with a blue tint - I guess to make them look like Xeons the second were advertised to be something like 50% brighter - both made by Phillips. I still have the 50% brighter ones in and they work a dream evening the darkest lanes.

May still have the pics of the beam/spread comparison around somewhere.

Personally have to agree with this 100%. I live in a country side area, lots of mud and crap on the roads so car gets dirty the moment you leave the drive.

Even with these conditions have never had a problem at night with light. Can see perfectly well on main and dipped beam. Just cleaning the standard lights every now and then does wonders.

If you want to change to the later style lights for an aesthetic reason then no problem, its your choice. But if you want to do it for better lighting then seriously consider giving them a thorough clean first as this can make a huge difference.
