This may be a repost - but it's HERE - on Pistonheads, amongst the threads! Surely this can't be allowed! eek

Is somebody at Haymarket extracting the urine? Have they not read their own forum and seen the strength of feeling against this advert?

Haymarket is pro- the car scrappage scheme along with a whole load of journos who work there even though a whole of us enthusiasts were against it.

I'd say they'd align with whomever lines their pockets- its a business...

Enjoy it.

They are paying for the adverts, it keeps our membership free.

Ironically, it keeps PistonHeads free to use.

Which is rather nice, I think.

If it wasn't paid for with tax payers’ money it would be amazing. Slightly takes the edge of it though knowing the government is spending our money in more erroneous ways.

I quite agree.

It's not justification for the advert, I must stress - we have many adverts that we do not allow to be filtered through to PHers (fake watches a recent one that was stopped, for example).

Sorry Tony, wasn't having a pop at you guys. I'm glad PH is funded by ad revenue and think the ads are targeted and placed very well compared to a lot of sites, I just wish the government would buck its ideas up and stop spending money in ways which are just dam right insulting to the general public!

It annoys me too.. Much of the Warmist opinion and theory appears distorted or contradictory yet is presented as fact by government funded scientists who have to toe the official line or loose their funding, or climate campaigners who actually know fk all about science and really are just a bunch of anachists with an adgenda wanting to harm the system - dispite the fact that it's the system that pays their benefits and makes them better when they fall off a power station chimney or get run over by a protest bus.

Problem is most of the more inteligent people who could take a balanced view and who, given the real facts, might be able to see a reasoned side to both points of view are either too busy working or just simply too knackered at the end of the day to find the time to get properly informed on the matter of warmism - if indeed it's actually possible to do so when you're drowning under the tidal wave of politically or adgenda motivated bks the Warmists and politicians keep shoving down your throat - and challenge the idiots responsible for all this alarmist drivel.

I'm sitting on the fence at the moment - I neither belive or disbelieve. My problem with warmism is that I wouldn't trust any politician or government funded scientist to tell me the right time, let alone the real truth and as soon as you look for the truth yourself all you actually see is Animal Farm type equality: Senior Cabinet ministers raising taxes on petrol, large engined cars and flying, whilst they enjoy a taxpayer funded fleet of armour plated V8 Jaguars and Range Rovers and traveling tens of thousands of miles each year on buisness or first class aircraft or private jets. The climate conference in Copenhagan - something like 1200 limosines and 400 private jets carrying the delegates around in luxury whilst the rest of us wonder if we'll be able to afford the petrol to go to work next week.

What the Warmists have just not realised that most sensible people don't use much more energy than they really need to because it costs money and sensible people - that's the vast majority of us - don't waste money on energy. Warmists need to start talking and acting scientific sense and setting a good example themselves instead of feeding us all this alarmist st.

If there is a problem with global warming, we need the proven facts and evidence and sure, it needs sorting and fast - but if not then Warmists, please just fk off and let me enjoy my fast cars, foreign holidays and 100 Watt lightbulbs in peace.

I wonder if anyone has actually calculated how much CO2 has been generated by talking about CO2? Bet its a shed load.

Copenhagan conference alone is generating a large city-sized shed load apparently..

But that'll be OK 'tho. Hundreds of thousands of miles of uneccessary, grossly fuel inefficent travel and accomadation in first class luxury for several hundred delegates, the press and assorted hangers on whilst air tax and fuel duty keeps on going up to limit the environmental impact of far more modest traveling by the rest of us.

What a Cunch of Bunts.
