This is my annual thread as brought to my attention by my on-screen countdown.

It is now officially 5 months, 30 days, 21 hours and 7 minutes until I have to leave home to catch the ferry.

Had our booking confirmed yesterday for the Team Langoustine site. This year there will be about nine of us in a four car convoy.

Can't wait!

I love the 6 month mark, because it becomes 'to go' instead of 'since the last one'... If you see what I'm saying?

Anyway, 2010 will be my 6th outing! Been going every year since I was 16, and I still can't wait!

Actually with a little reworking you’d be spot in, it’s the only good thing about Christmas!

Double helpings in 2010 with The Classic, throw in a couple of track days at the circuit and suddenly the prospect of the next few week or so seems far less hideous

Again, according to my on-screen countdown there is now officially less than 6 months to go before I leave to catch my ferry.

All booked at Team Langoustine again and have pushed the boat out this year with some grandstand tickets.

I really fancy a new car to travel down in though..............

Absolutely "the next race rather that the last time..."

During evening quali on the thursday (after the rain) I heard one of the Yanks on RLM saying "There is nowhere on this planet I would rather be than right here - right now"

I will send a youtube link to get you all in the mood - once I have found it

the clip is a couple of years old but the sound is good.... unfortunately no astons lmp1 there (charouz lola didn't sound as good) but the big vettes nealy made up for that
clip with the aston coming along soon

Off topic I have found this about the BRM 16 cylinder 1.5l car

If it sound bites you want here is the daddy of all racing engine sounds... I love the Aston LMP1 sounds of 2009 and 2010 but this car beats even them IMHO

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJA7Vxrfkng&fea... (and it only goes to 10000 rpm there because not all cylinders are firing!!!)

but here it is at full tilt 500bhp from 1.5l

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZMPDCNyQxE&fea...

And a few people wonder why we don't like diesel racing.....

Halleluiah, for those who are at best uncomfortable with Christmas the very thought of the 24hr warms the soul!

Bring on 2011 and right at the moment the thought of a Super Soaker and the ubiquitous nimrod attached to the end of it is a fantastic one

Im just busy trying to round up cash of people and then getting it all booked up, buzzing already cant wait smile Anyone know if the new Aston will be racing in 2011? The lack of info and pics is a bit worrying. Hope it makes the same noise as the Lola Aston made, I missed last years event but the 2009 soundtrack was awesome with the Vettes and Astons showing the diesels how cars should sound!

I organised a black tie dinner for the gang of us who go (and WAGs so they could get dressed up) on the 11th Dec, so pretty much 6 months to the day between 2010 and 2011. Cannot wait for the next one...
