My 2.4JTD has developed an intermittent fault whereby on occasions it won't start.
This occurs generally after the car has been run for some time and is still warm; it turns over normally but will not fire at all. When I come back to the car, after an hour or so, it starts and runs normally. However, the fault is very unpredictable and may not occur for a day or so then suddenly happens for no reason. The impression it gives is that there is no fuel getting through, but then after a little while its fine. Any ideas anyone??

Could be the Crank sensor, had similar symptoms until it got worse and started cutting out....the last straw was when it cut out at a busy junction at the traffic lights!

Not expensive but a bit awkward to get to at the back of the engine.

You'll need to get the codes read to confirm...anyone with Alfadiag/Unidiag and a laptop can do it.
