CM Dirt2 Release Date Pc

Does anyone know when CM Dirt2 is going to be released for the Pc?

I know it's available on Steam but I have an order placed with Play.com for the retail version.
The status is still 'order taken' even though Play show it as being released on 4 Dec.

Looking on other forums there seems to be some confusion as to whether there is a delay due to a last minute bug being found or so that the USA gets it first.

Has anyone else managed to obtain the retail version in the UK yet?

Order status with Play has gone from 'Order received' to 'Awaiting Stock'
I've just seen several copies of this game on the shelf at a Gamestop in Italy.
WTF is going on, why can't I get a retail copy in the UK?
