My filing cabinet appears to have jammed, its Bisley BS 3 door job, and the key won't turn in the lock to unlock it-

I've had the cabinet 4 yrs and its always worked before, any suggestions how to get in short of going at it with a drill? (ways using the key preferred!)

hehe We had trouble last year with our filing cabinets. I've just looked up and they are indeed bisley ones. But 4 drawer systems. We ripped the back off and binned them and got a new one..

Some of those things can be overridden by tipping them back and pulling the slide bolt down. Worth a try!

Got in now, key decided to work... not altogether sure why it didn't... very frustrating... (30 minutes of my life lost to fiddling with draws and banging on different bits of the exterior to see if I could 'unjam it')..

Not sure if it was a problem with the key, or the slider mech... ..or how to unjam it if it jams again in future...grrr...

(on a more level headed note, its a pretty small problem on the overall scale of things- world peace etc..)

boo, the correct answer is an angle grinder, all problems of limited/no access can be solved with an angle grinder
