Also though people may need to know that the A560 Altrincham Road (Sharston/Wythenshawe exit M56) has been downgraded from 40 to 30.

Road has been 40mph for years. NO accidents ever reported to local knowledge, but is wide road and residential. There is a school and supermarket along the route.

The repeater signs are still there, and the only real warning to drivers are just THREE small oblong red signs informing of limit change. If car is parked or another vehicle is travelling in inside lane, then outer lane traffic would miss it completely. Cops were present on this road at lunchtime today. They were monitoring spped but "not taking any action!" They did not want to know that the carriageway on roundabout leading to M56 is full of LONG nails either!

What!!! I used to use that road regularly. Duh!

If any 40 (repeater) signs are still there, the 30 limit is unenforcable (IMH and lay O).
