I am fuming about this but have no idea what I can do about it.

My Fiancée works for the Civil Service. She was off work for around 5 months due to her manager bullying her (she went down with a long list of mental illnesses). This was all certified by a doctor and she ended up having counselling. In total she only took 1 of those days off without a doctors note. She returned to work in January 2009 where she hasn't taken any time off apart from her annual leave.

This changed yesterday when she had a stomach upset and couldn't go to work. On the phone they wouldn't let her take it as annual leave as she had told them she is ill. Now today when she got in they told her that she will be "mapped" (don't think her performance will increase in the same was as a 330d). Due to this "mapping" they will remove her annual leave rights (10 days) and flexi (1 hour in credit) for the next 6 months and she cannot be ill again within this time otherwise it will be extended.

Now Shirley they cant just take away her paid leave as then she would be working those days for no pay (same for the flexi as well). I have told her not to sign any paperwork until we seek legal advice as to me the whole thing stinks.

Any one got any thoughts? Is this really how the world works and I have been lucky to avoid it or are they trying it on?
