So abit self indulgent maybe but I was wondering what people are getting photographic wise for christmas?

I have asked for some memory cards and batterys as small gifts from the family and a telephoto as my main present.

but couldnt really think of anything else to ask for so looking for ideas.

regards

A 580exII. I'm also treating myself to the 100mm f2.8 IS L and hopefully, finances allowing, a 5d MKII or a 1d MKIII if I ever make up my mind.

I've kind of jumped the gun and treated myself to a used Nikon 17-35 f2.8 when I was back in the UK.

I bought mine a couple of weeks early - a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM L Lens from kerso on eBay. I've not had the chance to use it yet as I only received it yesterday. My first L lens! biggrin

The Mrs is getting me some LensPouches and my auld gran is getting me a bag for my Manfrotto tripod.

You won't be disappointed when you re-unwrap that!

I was thinking of asking for more time. With only 24 hours in a day / 7 days in a week / 52 weeks in a year, I'm constantly struggling to find time to get as much snapping done as I'd really like. Otherwise more kit isn't going to make a jot of difference to my results! Even thinking about a compact to carry around doesn't appeal too much. I find I have a camera on the 'phone, but only use it very occasionally frown

Agreed, time seems such a precious commodity right now. I don;t think I've been out witht he camera since the middle of November frown

I also have to confess to a 24-70 f2.8, but with being able to reclaim the VAT it seemed a prime opportunity to replace my 24-85 G lens smile

Final purchase is 5 rolls of Velvia 120 format to go into the Hasselblad 500CM Dad just passed on to me. It's taken me a long time to clean it out but am looking forward to whacking some film through that. Thank God US customs didn't scan that bag on the way in ! Amazing he still has the receipt GBP 655 back in 1981 and I reckon second hand it's still worth that at least, of course you've lost out due to inflation but that's held it's value well.

Nice biggrin

I'm up for a Nikon D3s and the new 70-200 VRII lens... meanwhile back on planet earth reality is probably an air blower and a lens brush!
