I'm counting down the days until I leave here (7 to go) so I don't have to see this bunch of spackers ever again.

So, no Scaletrix for me.

I am breaking out the Christmas spirit later. Probably put some coke in it and a straw drunk

Same here! I've just come back form a meeting to find my team have put tinsel and decorations round all the monitors on the desk. Swiftly took everything off mine and got rid!

Scrooge is definitely my middle name.

If you're like me they'd expect that resonse, and were likely only doing it to wind you up.
They will be disapointed when retrieving it from the bin if you've cut it up!

fk Xmas its a pile of ste! Forced into buying presents & forced into keeping presents you didnt ask for. Having to take time off work at this time of year when its dark, wet & cold. Having to have the inlaws round on Xmas day, the pub is fking shut Xmas day night - bds - which means Im either forced into going to a house party (YAWN) or staying in and watch fking TV!

There should be football fixtures & pubs open on Xmas day night, then it would be more fun!!!

Its only any good when you are a kid, after the age of 16 or so then its a pain in the arse!

You do know you don't actually have to celebrate christmas don't you.

Tell people your a muslim or bugger off to Saudi for a while, Then you won't be bothered with christmas anymore.

the xmas tree went up on monday, office tradition that the newbie decorates it and he did so in style, its got nothing on besides chocolate decorations that are rapidly disappearing!

xmas week kicks off on monday with our annual pizza eating contest, then 3 pub lunches through the week, finishing with a final flourish on the friday with my leaving do.

One of our major product ranges is Christmas decorations and paraphanalia. Needless to say it skews things a little bit!

our open plan office is split into "pods" of about 8 desks each. We share a prime position "pod" (with a TV!) with another team of blokes.

All around us the pods have been infested with the spirit of the winged horse of chav tat, whereas in the centre pod we have a couple of strings of tinsel and a small tree on top of the TV.

I'm not a Scrooge, far from it, in fact - I love Christmas and decorations etc. I just don't like decorations in an office; it's distracting, often dangerous and never looks tasteful. Of course the areas where they have decorations spend the best part of a day in planning, the purchasing, and putting up the decorations, and another day taking them down. When asked what work they have done in that day, it's always "where's your Christmas spirit then?". I'll tell you where it is, it's at home, where I will be celebrating Christmas. If you want to unwrap your presents in the office surrounded by empty desks, and enjoy a microwave turkey dinner for one in the self serve part of the canteen then I can understand putting up the decorations in the office. For any other reason, then no, thanks.

This could reduce the pain of waiting!
"Your cab's here Shorty!"
"Hang on I'm not ready!"

Barbers take note blokes will be queuing hapily for hours.

We got an email about decorating our office space and the need to take into account local H and S legislation! It gave a hotline number we could call for advice. I am tempted to call them and ask which of the three pin terminals I need to jam my car key in, to open the safteys so I can cram the bare ends of the Xmas lights in because the plug has been dodgy for 8 years now!

BTW I understand it is the "top one!" HTH
