In the process of trying to spec an A3. I was initially going to go for a USB socket in the glovebox, but have since found out that it doesn't show track names or artists and is frankly, pretty poor.

Being an old fashioned sort, who still likes my CDs, I thought about the Symphony stereo. Other than the 6x cd changer, is there any other difference (more power/better sound etc)?

That just about covers it then! smile

(Might still spec it anyway...I know I could do an MP3 cd on the concert, but I am a bit of a dinosaur!)

I still can't get over Audi having a USB or I-POD connection that DOESN'T show tracks/Albums. Even a cheap MP3 player does that.

Does the A3 come with an Aux-in socket? I know my new TT has it (behind the hand brake) and allows you to plug your mp3 player into the sound system. Works pretty much the same as the glove compartment one as far as I can see. Neither are great but one is free. There's also none of that playlist/track number limitation you get with the paid for option.

MP3 discs seem to be the best option anyway - get you track listings on screen that way

Yep. I think I'm going to keep the Concert and just do MP3 discs!
