I have a Jago with a 1600 xflow, and I wish to convert to diesel with 5 speed box. Preferably Maestro/Montego. Has anyone done this conversion? If so could you please advise with regards to gearbox, prop, rad, fuel tank, exhaust etc.
Many thanks.
Only had the jago a little while - very pleased with it. Best thing I ever did!

Hi,

I had a visitor a while ago when I was selling some Jago bits, he had a Dutton Sierra and had fitted the engine and box from a Sherpa Van. He regularly gets 60MPG.

Might be easier than converting transverse to inline.

Good luck

Really you need to be looking at an inline engine/box set up rather than all the extra mods needed to turn a transverse engine around and then match a box to it.

The Sierra/P100 units are acceptable power plants and have a 5 speed box attached.
