Despite having a prominent notice on my front door asking that no charity bags or take-away leaflets be posted through my letterbox these fking assholes are just not getting the message mad
I mean who the fk has enough unwanted clothing, shoes etc to fill 40-50 of these bags per year, maybe Princess Di did or Elton John ? Certainly not me or anyone i know,
and why does every take-away shop owner in my area think that it is essential to do a leaflet drop every few weeks? i have recieved some of their leaflets 5-6 times already this year rolleyes
Well from now on every charity bag i recieve is going to be left for collection with the contents of my kitchen bin inside it along any other unpleasent items i come accross and with a snotty note to the collectors, and for every take-away leaflet i recieve i will be placing a hoax delivery order to the fkers wink

The Avon lady got the hump tonight when I told her I've no idea where her catalogue is, but there's a good chance I've put it in the wheelie bin along with the other junk mail.

I agree with this though - you can't give me junk mail and then expect me to save it for you and give it back on request.

I know what you mean about some of the charity bags, the favourite round here is a charity supporting breast cancer in Lithuania, which comes round at least once a month. And then it's one of the schemes where they sell the donations commercially and agree to give a small percentage to the chosen charity...

Against that, things like the BHF or Age Concern bag once or twice a year I can't see a problem.

I get roughly one a week, two if am really lucky. I hate binning them, but the buggers never pick them up if you leave them on the door step.

Personally I find the charity bags work well as a kitchen bin bag. Saves me buying them!

LOL Its not about being tight, sorry charities but i (and probably just about everyone else in the country) just dont posess enough unwanted clothing&shoes etc to fill a skip every year
I never try to avoid or pretend to walk into my local supermarket or down the high st.without noticing the tin rattlers standing there on saturday mornings, and am always happy to give a couple of quid in sponsorship money here and there when iam asked.
My point is that these charity bag droppers must be aware that there are many other charities working the same area as themselves so why cant they get their heads together and come up with some way of doing their work so that we only get maybe 3-4 bags per year, rather than per month, that way they may get a more favourable response from the public

hehe currently got 100,000 of the things im putting out around my coverage area

and as for the sign.. good luck.

best way to prevent leaflets is to make getting to your door a time consuming as possible. the average leaflet distributor wants to hit one letterbox every 15-20 seconds.

if you can make the journey time into and out of your property longer than that... and your nehbours either side do the same... chances are they will skip you so they can keep pace

i.e

multiple gates.

slide locks instead of normal gate latches

front door a zillion miles away from the gate

no letter box ( i see this one alot lol )

Big dog in front yard hehe

Hedge / fence either side of your property to stop cutting across the lawns ( love new build estates, can do at least 2 leaflets every 10 secs due to complete lack of fences and easy access front doors biggrin )

If any junk mail comes through with a pre-paid addressed envelope then I put other junk mail in that envelope, such as the pizza menus etc, and post it back.

haha, give em something to do enroute to every shout they have lol.

the collection drivers might not like it though. they have to pay for all their bags!

each driver ( self employed ) gets a patch they can use.

they pay their parent company about 10p per bag

pay a company like mine a small fortune to put the bags out. ( usually 2-3,000 per day, per driver )

and then proceed to fail to collect most of them in... the rest get stolen by competing charity bag collection drivers.

at the end of all that.. they get about £1000 per tonne for all their hard work.

i think i prefer my end of the deal lol

I bet youll be doing the same 10,000 houses 10 times in the next year or so then? biggrin

Had thought of that or securing letterbox flap shut with bolt or something but what about the mail that i DO want to recieve?,anyhow the charity collectors and menu deliverers would probably just slide them into the gap where the door meets the frame.
