I have just purchased a Discovery 4 from a german Landrover dealer (demonstrator with 3000 miles and LHD as I need it on the Continent) and it has a real problem as the battery is flat after 48 hours. I has been towed to the local LR dealer in Surrey 2 times already and every time he tells me there is no fault with the car. Last week he kept it over the week-end and could not find any problems with it. 24 hours later the the "battery weak" indicator was on again.

How can this be checked properly. Does the dealer have some equipment to properly check this or could it simply be a faulty battery.

(I has been fully charged as I drove more than 500 miles from Hamburg to London miles when I picked it up)

I understand there was a similar problem with MY10 FFRR. Think they did a software update to cure. May be a similar issue with your Disco? Suggest you speak to LR customer services or an alternative dealer.

It is back with Landrover Thames Ditton and I will not take it away from their premises before it is sorted!

We have a new Discovery 4 that also had a completely dead battery so call LR assistance. Typically, when he pressed the button the car started! After spending half an hour giving the battery a full checkover he could find no problems. We now keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. Will get the local dealer to have a look next week when the car goes in for a few other problems (gearbox fault light and occasional restricted power mode)

I have a Landrover Discovery 4 with exactly the same problem. The car is now with my dealer to solve the problem. Has the problem been sloved with other Discovery 4's? Please can you tell me what was the sollution.
Thanks for your response.

Seems to be a common issue. Has happened twice on my 2010 RRS. Not returned for the past few months. There was an issue with cars being parked up after manufacter. All the new gizmo's kept flattening batteries. I'm sure Disco4.co.uk has the answer now.

Funny enough my Disco 4 has been on its best behavior for almost a month now without any recurring issues regarding the low battery issue and I have not had the power restricted mode back which i experienced as well. So a typical Landrover fault. It comes and goes. Landrover was unable to find any fault and the diagnostics didn't show anything untoward.

How I was in my local stealer testing some FF RRs.
Their Disco 4 in the showroom was flashing a warning on the screen reference the battery condition.

I told the sales dude, his comment was........

My Disco4 lives in Norway, it is a 2011 model. I have had no battery problems even in 25 minus degrees celsius. However the car vas called back to LR dealer in order to change the battery after just four months from new. Do not know the reason, but there has for sure been some battery issues with this model..
