Desperately seeking cheap cat-back exhaust - E34 540i
Discussion
I've just tipped my poor old 540i in for an MOT after it having been standing for about a year. Surprisingly, it looks like it'll pass if I give it some new exhaust bits, the original one having dissolved after 16 years. (I think I can let if off that...)
My local garage is having trouble finding anyone who can supply the bits, having decided that BMW themselves will charge something around the "you're having a laugh" mark. Can anyone here advise on where I might look for what I think is basically a very cheap and cheerful cat-back system? Cheap & nasty really wins: tinworm has set in here and there on the car, and it's only a stopgap while I sort my daily driver out really. Sad though that is...
FAB drew a blank, but I've no idea where else to turn really.
Thanks,

Chris, I see you're Cambridgeshire. I had a bespoke S/S system built for the M5 not too far away in Bury St Edmunds. I can send you contact details if you like. It was c. £300
ok, you have my attention now! Details would be much appreciated.Although I guess they need the car? Could be fun: has no MOT without the exhaust...
