I would like to stand on my and discuss my gripe with people who cant change a bulb.

Recently there seems to an excessive amount of people who insist on driving around with either one bright headlight and one dim one or just one headlight working on it's own. It really makes me feel like , do they not realise at night when only one half of the road is lit up. Surely for the cost of a bulb are people that lazy they can't find their way to Halfwits. This is equally annoying along with the numpties who drive around with their sidelights on at night and their fog lights.

Maybe it's me but but its bloody dangerous especially around the country lanes where I live as there are few if any streetlights.

Now I feel better........

Agreed........they're everywhere.

Come on, let's all flash 'em.....they just might notice.

Saw a police 307 last week, four times, different days, dip beam gone!

Sorry, I can't "flash 'em" ... I'm not a "safety camera" - Streaky

It is annoying and when the whole of one side is gone it is particularly bad as other road users can think it is a motorbike. I also don't see how they can't notice that half their lights aren't working - it's pretty bloody obvious.

Mind you some (a minority I would think) of them will be in a situation where it has just gone and is we are not required to carry spare bulbs (unlike most of the continent) it is unlikely they can change it until the next get to Halfwits.

Surely its against the law. I saw 2 cars last night, one with just the sidelight on one side, another with nothing on one side.
Mine you cannot be any more dangerous than the car I followed with her brake lights on all the time! When I got level with her at a roundabout, she knew they were on all the time, but didnt know what to do about it

I feel the same, although, surprise surprise one of my front lights in the porker did actually blew when I turned them on 2 nights ago as I go to drive home from work.
So I had a 15min drive with only one front working.

But I did change it the next day. so I have a bit more sympathy now !

You CAN get pulled by Plod for this - if and when they are patrolling!

Could be another reason why we are seeing such laziness. Speed cams don't detect dodgy use of car lights - do they! And all folk know the cops are only interested in how fast you are going, not how roadworthy or how car-proud we are!

Always carry spare everything in car anyway.

What really pissed me off is when the silly bastards put the one remaining light on full beam.

jesus - that really irritates me too, and what really irks is that theyre driving in built up thirty zones where the streetlights make the most difference anyway. having said that though i recently found myself with no headlights at all - i turned my lights on and the bulbs literally went bang, bang as fast as that. with no lights what am i supposed to do? in the end i drove home with my sidelights and hazards on. for future reference, is there a better way?

What superlightr said. In most European countries you have to carry a bulb kit by law. Why we don't is a mystery to me as it costs very little.
