110 or discovery 2?

some quick advice and opinions wanted guys...
looking to buy either a 110 auto (300tdi conversion new galvanised chassis) or a disco 2 from a main dealer. both are about 10k and would be used as daily driver / family car.
i know 110 would be reliable and rugged (as am selling a 90 auto), but would prefer maybe the comfort / quiet of the disco 2. anyone else been through this? am slightly worried that disco being more complicated will suffer more gremlins, so am interested to hear all stories. also, as i understand it, road tax on a disco 2 from say 03 / 53 is going up to 400 quid in a year or so...

As a daily / family car, I'd go for the Disco any day. I love Defenders, but Discos are also great, and much more comfortable and spacious (cabin-wise anyway) while still being brilliant off road if you want to. Elbow room, driving position and noise in a 110 in daily use would drive me nuts but they're great otherwise. The Disco 2 may be relatively crude compared with the Disco 3 but is still comfortable, quiet enough and very useable all round.

I've not owned a Disco so can't comment on likely issues but clearly there are plenty of people using them all the time without any problems if you buy wisely.
