I really don't care how tight you are or if you don't believe in Christmas, if you really wanted to donate money to Charity instead of giving Christmas cards you would buy Charity Christmas cards and kill two birds with one stone. Don't go fobbing me off that you will donate the money you spend on Christmas cards to charity it just doesn't cut with me.

This Christmas I spent a whopping £2 on Christmas cards, so all these people e-mailing me saying they are going to donate the money they would have spent instead of sending me a card, but they wish me all the best anyway can shove their 2 line e-mail. You tight git your going to give £2 to Charity, admit it, you can't be bothered, you work with me and thats it, fine I don't much like seeing your ugly mug every day but I will still send you a card that costs me all of 10p because it Christmas and its what we all do.

No expletives in this mini rant because it's Christmas and we shouldn't be swearing.

I hate cards with a passion, not just christmas but birthdays, valentines, easter, mothers day, fathers days etc etc blah blah bullst! I would quite happily not receive cards from anyone for the remainder of my life, I wouldnt take it as an insult I would just go through life in the knowledge that I didnt have to go looking for a card for someone ever again! They are completely pointless, someone opens it, reads it, forgets about it, bins it and that probably took me half an hour to drive to shop, wonder up and down the card aisle aimlessly and then drive home!

A lot of the cards now that you buy donate to charity anyway so buy cards AND donate to charity. It is a cop out and the more things like Facebook etc I imagine will lesson the cards even more. Also crap Christmas cards, you know the box of 100 for 50p, its rubbish dont do it. You can get some lovely cards for a couple of quid, these are representing you. Don't represent youself as a cheapskate!

On an oppsing note I am getting PMs of people on forums who I have met breifly at meets asking for my address...now thats going to far really in my book.

The mods have already had a word with CVM about that before. I believe the police will be getting involved this time.

Personal cards I don't bother with. Nor charitable donations instead of. Send a few cards out on behalf of my company but that's about it.

Christmas text messages for everyone this year, as normal. (Usually exactly the same, all sent together when the other half is doing her share of the driving.)

I'm tight. And honest. My friends respect that. Probably.

I hate receiving a card from anyone i see on a near enough daily basis.

Futhermore, i hate cards from friends from abroad/not local, as they generally contain the 'yearly update' letter

.....little toby has learnt to use the potty.......we had a fantastic few days in mablethorpe............our niece is reputed to be one of the most gifted ever seen at the academy.............rex, our new puppy is really part of the family- he is oh so clever..........of course, now brian is on the local council............our new address is...so much larger than the old house....

Not...............toby is still smearing st on the fridge in some sort of mental dirty protest.......we couldnt afford a decent holiday this year...........our niece has got the clap due to being one of the most popular shags at the academy........rex is a mental little - pedigree my arse- it destroys everything in sight and we cant go in the lounge as he bites.......i had an affair with the postman...brian is depressed and recently tried to kill himself and the kids......

OMG Don't even get me started on the letters! We are great, all had payrises, the kids are fantastic, doing the best in school, we are so much better than you, our lives are better than yours, life is fantastic.

My point entirely.

..........And when we moved in, the seller didnt realise that he had left a picasso in the attic......brian said finders keepers, and now its ours....little clarabel now bathes in asses milk, and the solid gold fountain in the paddock interferes with air traffic control.......even better, when we were converting the cellar into a games room so i dont have to look at brian as i have a string of gentlemen callers around the clock, he found the original bible.....we are minted and you are just a peasant....isnt it strange how our friendship endures despite the enormous gulf in wealth.

etc etc

.......we really MUST get together this year..its been soooo long......

Indeed, its been 17 years, yet each year you say we must get together.

And please dont send any more pictures of your kids- i admit its a shame that the CAA wont allow little tarquin to become a jumbo pilot at the age of 7, even given his massive intellect-fluent in 5 languages by the age of 4, who would have thought it eh- but it makes the milk curdle- an ugly little fker, isnt he

Here is mine:

I lost my job, my house, nearly died when i blew myself up in the garden, have gone deaf in one ear, losing eyesight which looks like it cant be cured, and now have an arm like sandpaper.
I broke my fingers after falling down stairs, and ruined the lounge carpet with a rancid mixture of paint and catst.
I still limp, dad unwell and has been for 3 months, and jnr got moved away by his of a mother.
Anyway, we simply MUST get together this year etc etc

I ought to send a card to the bloody samaritans
