Er I think it is something to do with the season of goodwill to all men.

Are you a lawyer or investment banker by any chance ?

so why aren't they selling their stuff at 50% off to show "it's the season of goodwill to all men" since they've been raking it in for the rest of the year?

I dont see the point in tipping a tall.

In the US they go nuts for it, you HAVE to tip everyone. Bar staff, restruant, taxis, Clerk at hotel desk, guy who takes your bags up.

Why are we tipping them if they are already getting paid for thier job?

I dont get a tip for merely doing my job. If i did a great job i still wouldnt get a tip.

In the US a lot of service jobs have crap wages because tipping is assumed to be part of the total pay. Better service can increase tip.

But in America, some staff get paid a minimum wage, which is substituted by tips (restaurant/bar). They also have to pay their income tax based on a % of a % of their receipts. If they don't get a tip - they still pay the taxx on it.

no its a tip box for them "thanking all their customers for this year" No, give me a tip for spending my money with you and not the guy with the shop across the road, sorry but I still dont get it - your job is your choice so is the salary level that comes with, if you want more money educate yourself you pony salesman. (not you sonic the cheeky shop owners)
