nice way to get an instant picture library which you can sell on and not pay any of the contributers a penny.

T&C's as always make interesting reading..

Looks like standard commercial terms, the copyright still stays with the owner but allows the website non-exclusive use!

You must be running under different standard commercial terms..

And what use is the copyright when you've agreed to this..

As stated you licence the website to use your image but you retain the copyright so they cannot claim ownership only right to use. You retain all other copyright with any other potential user without restriction.
All quite acceptable, if you don't like such terms then don't post!

I'm not going to post don't worry.

So if they decided to start running a British Library of images allowing you to download (for a fee) images, you'ld be happy that they're making money out of it would you ?

As I said above they get an instant UK Picture library to use with as they wish and not just related to this site but as long as it's run by or owned by PicturesofEngland.com that's okay. Not in my book it's not.

If...If...if they did start a library then the image owner can pull his image, as already stated if the individual doesn't like the terms then they have no need to post. The website currently, without the if...if...ifs..is there to promote England it is not yet a commercial library and until it is then if...is pure conjecture. However their terms are not onerous or restrictive they are quite acceptable in the current circumstances.

If you wish to read more into it then, if and only if they start the library.....oh whatever I can't be arsed any more, if only I didn't have this rotten cold, if only I was mega rich, if only I was 40 years younger..if...if...if.....aaarghh! wink
