Contact a dealer with the VIN and you should be able to get the details of any Main dealer service work carried out on the car.
Diagnosis was made by ? From other forums some "problems" with cars of this age are not easy fixes. Well worth seeking out a specialist who will have more experience than main dealers re older cars and should not just suggest replacement of expensive parts.
There is/was a 2000 XKR Convertible Cat D repaired on e-bay for about £8.5K so with fault this should be a target price to beat ??

Don't think you can go far wrong there
Even cars with no known problems going for twice that have been known to give the new owner unforseen bills

As my email back yo you, looks as if your in luck if required
