as above really, was holding out to geta 360 early next year, but with my 355 being driven loads im thinking about a gransport as it seems a sensible ish option, detuned 430 engine in them, paddle shift all the luxuries and at around 30k they seem a bargain!

what should one do.

they're apparently great cars (much improvement over the 4200), but i'm not sure i'd get one instead of a 360 as they sort of do different jobs really!

I love the GranSport, especially the MC Victory. The car is said to be much better than the 4200GT and a whole lot better than the 3200GT. But as Mario said, they are completely different cars. The Ferrari will get a lot more attention from normal people passing by. Drive the GranSport and see what you think of it.

Same as Mr Spock, just bought one myself and am having a blast with it. Its going into Meridien in Southampton next week for an early 31K service (actual mileage just hit 29K). I'm getting them to put a set of EBC Red Stuff pads front and rear self supplied as they strip / clean the brakes as part of this service anyway.

^^^^^

what they said! I got a Black/Black with smoke wheels back in March and I love it!
Great usable car with 4 good seats, great for seriously pressing on when required and utterly effortless cruising too! So many positive comments! Class car for not much money!

Huge improvement over the 4200 though I still wouldn't buy one if you're considering a 360. Cambiocorsa gearbox is still tedious and frustrating to use compared to the Ferrari unit.

I wouldn't bother with EBC reds either - had these on my 4200GT and whilst they had more bite than the Ferodos that were fitted the squeal never abated and were useless when cold.

The GS is said to be much better than earlier 4200GT's but the 2005 MY 4200GT had much of the updates seen on the GS. Therefore don't be put off buying a later 4200GT as they are a lot cheaper than a GS.

As the owner of a late 4200GT and having driven a 360 some time ago I would endorse the comments that they are very different cars. Drive both and decide.

Be weary of the red stuff pads on the 3200/4200/GS. I found they were immense on the motorway but absolutley horrific when cold or when being used around town.
