BBC Article said:
The swine flu pandemic is "considerably less lethal" than feared, chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson says.

A study led by Sir Liam found a death rate of just 0.026% in those infected, the British Medical Journal reported.

But he said the findings, based on a review of deaths to early November, did not mean the action taken in the UK was unnecessary.
IMO, this demonstrates a problem with this type of fear mongering. We see it so often. I am sure that we each have come across many instances where a 'body' raises fear in the populace so that it can profit in some way from that fear.

Everything from 'Climate Change' (allegedly wink ) to clinics that decree that baldness is an illness that needs a cure, springs to mind.

Swine flu is a classic example. Scare the st out of everyone with little or no evidence. Then, months later, admit that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Create a fear and offer a solution to the fear that you've created. Jeez, do I find this annoying.

I wish they'd just leave us alone.

Apologies it this is a repost. The search thingy is 'under maintenance'.

Did swine flu turn out to be less lethal that regular flu, or was that just the predicted death toll from all flu cases vs the smaller incidence of swine flu?

Its not that nice either.

My Daughter brought it home (bless her), I caught it, but am jabbed, and although poorly for a few days am back on my feet and although still not 100%, no real problems.

My poor wife (no other health issues) has been having a torrid time of it, three weeks now, she gets betterish, then goes down again etc etc

I know its been hyped, I know normal flu kills more, but don't underestimate its effects if you do "cop" it.

I'm certainly not downplaying the effects of this 'flu. It's obviously a rotten thing to contract, most debilitating.

What does annoy me however, is the scaremongering that we were subjected through throughout most of 2009.

Unfounded fearmongering and unsettling of the populace is a despicable act IMO.

One day, some terrible event will come to pass. The Government will be desperate to try to protect us from the threat. But, with a history of overhyped hysteria to refer to, most folk will probably ignore the warnings.

No surprise tbh, the same thing happened with bird flu and SARS.

Anyone like to guess the name of the next "super-bug" that only Tamiflu can cure?

Swine flu in itself is not that bad an illness providing you don’t have any serious underlining illness.
99% of people that they link to swine flu deaths actually die from the underlining illness and not from swine flu.

The vaccine is more dangerous than the illness itself.
If you do a little digging and some research, I think your will find that it’s the big drugs companies who actually make/profit from these vaccines, and coincidentally the same companies that are also paying GPs to administer the swine flu shots, are behind the scare mongering and mass push for inoculations in various counties for the swine flu jab.
Have a look at the dangerous levels of chemical toxins in the swine flu jab itself.
Squaline, Thimeriso ,Aluminum, Ethylene Glycol, Formaldehyde, Phenol and antibiotics like Neomycin and Streptomycin to name a few.
All these are way above the safe level laid down by the W.H.O. for adults, yet we are supposed let them give this chemical mix to our 6 month old babies and children.

Ask yourself this when the mass vaccination in Germany started why was German Chancellor Angela Merkel and government ministers given a different vaccine which had most of the above chemicals removed, to that given to the mass populace?

You will also note that Mr Obama and his children have not and will not be taking the swine flu shots up says it all really.

Indeed. The makers of Tamiflu must be very happy. Especially if it mutates and they have to come up with "Tamiflu 2 - This time it will give you anal leakage"
