Following in the footsteps of Lucky, I posted a competition on 99designs.com for a logo.

I have a trade plate for the Ultima that is registered in a company "Modena Sports"... the company had that name when I bought it.... a reference the birthplace of a few Ultima-wannabees

I thought it would be an idea to get a logo for the company.

What do you guys rekon.

I like number 53.

Has nice styling of the car without making the name difficult to read.

Firstly, I'd get rid of the ones you definately don't like.

Then suggest a few of your favourites.

Then ask away.

Some nice options in there though.

57 is very nice. 77 and 78 are nice as well.

Fire up another contest and get a design for the Ultima Crest. It is never coming from the factory.

Great idea.

I'm a graphic designer, that is a neat website.

To the last poster, what ultima crest? I might like to take a shot at designing it...

A couple of things to keep in mind: You have a stronger logo if the graphic is still recognizable without the text. You also want the logo to translate to print (black/white) without a big fuss. This usually means that simplicity is good. Designs 34 and 49 stand out to me smile

I have this saved on my computer, but cannot remember where it came from to give due credit to the designer.

Wasn't that the logo used by the Ultima Club some time ago in the USA??

I agree that an Ultima logo would be a good idea, (please don't shoot me and I don't want to upset people), but... IMO the above logo looks a bit like a sports club logo getmecoat

What is and where comes the crest in the top left corner??

This was from the home of the factory (county).

It is a crest that looks at home on the car, especially at speed.

Agreed. Thing is with a logo, it's all very well having something that looks good on your PC, but you also need to consider how well it will translate to print/embroidery/vinyl cutting etc.

  1. 53 is simple and would be cost effective to produce for any of those applications. Compare to #78 which looks good, but would actually be a bit of a git to reproduce 'physically'.
Ultimately (no pun intended) it's down to personal taste of course smile

one of my criteria was that I wanted it to be printable in black and white.

interestingly #53 was in the top couple.

I think the word "sports" is however a little weak.... maybe a wider font (like PORSCHE use) might work
